About this tool

Precision PDF Page Extraction Without Compromise

Often you receive a 100-page bank statement, contract, or textbook when you only require two specific pages for an audit or presentation. Sharing the entire file wastes bandwidth, clutters archives, and exposes unrelated sensitive information.

Toolnova Split PDF lets you surgically extract exact page sequences, split every single page into autonomous documents, or chunk long manuals into handy intervals. Every operation is handled non-destructively.

Because all page table references and vector font descriptors are parsed client-side using pdf-lib, extraction takes fractions of a second even on extensive documents.

Frequently asked questions about Split PDF

Common questions about usage, privacy, limits, and browser compatibility.

How do I extract just one page from a PDF?

Open the PDF, choose the custom range option, and type that page number, such as 5, into the range field. The tool creates a new PDF containing only page 5 and leaves the rest of the document alone. You can download it immediately or extract more ranges in another pass.

Can I extract non-consecutive pages, like 1, 4, and 7-9?

The range field accepts commas for separate pages and hyphens for continuous spans, so 1, 4, 7-9 selects exactly those pages. They are assembled in the order you enter them, which is handy for building a custom handout. Page numbers must fall within the document's total page count.

Can I split a PDF every few pages?

Every N Pages mode breaks the document into fixed chunks, such as three pages per file. Each part is packaged into a single ZIP archive so you can download the whole set at once. If the last chunk is shorter, it still becomes its own PDF.

Is there a maximum file size for splitting a PDF?

There is no set size cap; the limit is how much memory your browser can spare for the document. Long, image-heavy files take longer because every page has to be read and copied. Splitting into fewer ranges at a time is the simplest fix if a huge file struggles.

Are my PDFs uploaded when I split them?

Splitting runs locally in your browser, so your document is never sent to a server. The original file stays where it is on your device, and only new output files are created for download. No account is needed and no copy is retained after you close the tab.

Does splitting a PDF lower its quality?

Pages are copied into new documents without recompression, so text, images, and formatting retain their original quality. The tool only reads the source file and never modifies it, which means you can go back and extract a different range later. Output PDFs are often smaller simply because they contain fewer pages.
